PHSR PRE START HEALTH AND SAFETY REVIEW

Storage Structures And Racking Inspections/certification

Workplace obligation under the Ontario Health and Safety Act and Ministry of Labour Regulations. A PSR is required when any structure is constructed at heights or installed or modified in the workplace. Our engineers provide detail storage structure reviews and recommendation including:

Platform structures – Mezzanine load capacity, Cantilever system, Pallet racking, Push back racking, Drive inn racking, Flow racking system, Bolted shelving. A PSR is not required when the employer has documentation showing that the structure/system has been designed and tested in accordance with the current applicable standards [Reg. 851, subsection 7(7)].

The OHSA requires the employer to ensure that the structure is maintained in good condition. Racks must be maintained in good condition by replacing/repairing damaged components of a racking system [OHSA, clause 25(1)(b)]
